Riley Joe Evans
Riley Joe Evans-Founding Owner, Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Crematory Operator
Riley Joe is the son of Milford (Spurlock) Evans and the late Riley Evans. He started in the Funeral Business as a teenager at the Johnson Funeral Home at Switzer, WV. He received his education at the Kentucky Mortuary College (now Mid America) in Louisville, KY and was licensed in the State of West Virginia as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1974. He later founded the Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville in 1975 and has been its continuous owner/operator. He is the husband of Teresa, and father of Nicole, Brittany and Jordan. He is also the proud grandfather of Kal Lee, who is the light of his life. Joe is a 33rd degree mason and member of Aracoma Lodge A.F. & A. M. in Logan, Beni-Kedem Shrine Temple in Charleston and a Kentucky Colonel.
Riley Jordan Evans
Jordan Evans-Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, Crematory Operator and LIC
Jordan is the son of Riley Joe and Teresa Evans, and is following in his father's footsteps. Jordan attended Mid-America College of Funeral Service, graduating with his Bachelor's Degree in 2010. He earned his License in 2011. Jordan has grown up around the funeral home and has been a part of the business since an early age, washing cars, cleaning and learning from the experienced staff. He recently married Rikki Lynn Smith in August of 2013 and soon will welcome their first child. They make their home in Chapmanville. Jordan is a member of the Logan Fire Department and is a member of the Aracoma Lodge A.F. & A. M. in Logan, Beni-Kedem Shrine Temple in Charleston and is a Kentucky Colonel.
Mark A. 'Tony' Vance
Tony Vance-Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer and Crematory Operator
Tony started with Evans in 1992 and has been with the firm longer than any other non-family member. He started in the Funeral Business in 1988, later going to the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1990. He then earned his Funeral Director/Embalmer license in 1991. He is married to Te-Te, and they have two children, Lydia (who is married to Camron Stover) and Caleb. Tony began pastoring Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church in Logan, WV at the end of 2019. He enjoys being with his wife and children, reading, especially his Bible, and helping at his church. Tony published his first book, 'A Journey to Grace' in 2014 and is available at Amazon.
William R. 'Bill' Davis
Even though Bill is not a licensed director, he has been involved with the funeral business since the 1950's. His dad worked for Harris Funeral Home in Logan and Bill often helped as a teenager and on into his early twenties. Later, Bill worked for C&P Telephone, AT&T, and retired from Lucent Technology. Following his retirement, he began doing telephone contract work and helping Evans on a part-time basis. Bill previously served on the Logan County Board of Education and the WV Board of Funeral Service Examiners- as the Consumer/Citizen Member. He is married to his wife Florence, and they have one son, Jason. He is also Sunday School Superintendent at his church-Striker Bible Church in Chapmanville.
