Obituary
William Jefferson “Bill” Norman, Jr., 73, of Ottawa, WV, departed this life on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, WV.
Born June 22, 1949, at Logan, WV, he was the son of the late William Jefferson Norman, Sr., and Fanna May Turner Norman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Aleshire Norman.
Bill was a coal miner, having been employed with Penn Coal for over 25 years. He was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge at Logan, WV. He loved his dog, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Those left to cherish his memory are one son, William Jefferson (Sharon Akers) Norman, III; one daughter, Sunny Norman; his grandchildren; Mackenzie Norman, Zoie Pauley, Lilly Norman, Josiah Pauley, Amelia Norman, Moddoz Aldridge, Mykiah Aldridge, Alcide Pauley, and Isabell Norman; and three sisters, Sue Plaster, Diane Tracey, and Glinda Shorb. Additionally, Bill leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
