William “Cotton” Reagan, 80, of Ethel, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, leaving from CAMC Memorial Hospital at Charleston, WV.
Born April 27, 1942, at Welch, WV, he was the son of the late James Homer and Viola Shumate Reagan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mariam Reagan; one son, Billy Reagan, Jr.; two brothers, James Reagan and Ralph Reagan; and one sister, Anna Tomblin.
Cotton, as he was affectionately known, worked as an electrician for many years. He was a fun-loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he was also very devoted to his family. A devout Christian and faithful servant of the Lord, Cotton was a member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church at Mill Creek. He was also a United States Veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. at Logan, WV, where he served twice as Past Master. He was also a member of the Beni Kedem Temple of Charleston, WV, and the Logan Shrine Club at Logan, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Reagan; two sons, Jeff (Angie) Reagan and Stephen (Merilee) Reagan; his grandchildren, Danyell (Caleb) Long, Hailey (Dustin) Williams, Garrett Glycadgis, Nick Reagan, Emily Reagan, and Brad Reagan; three step-grandsons, Logan, Ty, and Skyler; his great-grandchildren, Heidi Williams, Hannah Williams, and Lincoln Williams; his siblings, Donna (Hershel) Berry, Gay Farmer, Olen (Millie) Reagan, and Norma (David) Chapman. Additionally, Cotton leaves behind his church family along with a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Freewill Baptist Church at Mill Creek with Pastor Roscoe Chafin officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
