Wallace Mullins, Sr. Obituary

 

Wallace Mullins, Sr., 85, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, departed this life on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Meadow Brook Assistance with Living in Julian, West Virginia.


He was born June 2, 1939, at War, West Virgnia, a son of the late Willard and Missouri Midkiff Mullins.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Hinchman Mullins; and his stepfather, Lewis Dillo.


Wallace was a member of the Army Reserves. He was employed by Kroger until his retirement in 2004 after 40 years of service. During those years, he was a skilled meat cutter. Wallace was a Charter member of the Chapmanville Lions Club. He was also an avid fisherman and loved nothing more than going on a fishing trip with his friends.


Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Brenda (Ed) Moses of Corbin, Kentucky; his daughter, Kathy (Randy) Salyers of Roanoke, Virginia; his son, Wally (Michele) Mullins of Williamson, West Virginia; grandchildren, Shane Salyers and Holli (Robert) Cooper, Jr., both of Roanoke, Virginia, Rebekah Mullins and Corrie Mullins both of Williamson, West Virginia, and David Mullins of Chapmanville, West Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Owen Cooper, Addison Salyers, and Annabelle Salyers. Additionally, Wallace leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, West Virginia, with Rev. James Fortune officiating.


Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, West Virginia. Serving as pallbearers are David Mullins, Robert Cooper, Jr., Matthew Lovejoy, Chris Windsor, and Doug Adams.


Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.


The Mullins family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Meadow Brook Assistance with Living for their exceptional care of Wallace for the last few years.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, West Virginia.
