Virginia Diana Spears, 69, of Logan, WV, departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her residence.
She was born May 20, 1955, at Ashland KY, a daughter of the late George Vinson and Lila Marie Yates.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Chaney; one brother, Ricky Vinson; her companion, Jerry Morrison; and a special friend, Elizabeth Spears.
Virginia spent many years behind the deli counter at Starr Market, where she made countless friendships with the customers she served. A woman of many passions, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid cook, often sharing her delicious meals with friends and family. She also enjoyed watching true crime documentaries. Virginia's love for animals was boundless, and she could often be found cheering at local races and playing bingo, a testament to her spirited and lively character. Above all, Virginia's devotion to her family was unwavering. Virginia's legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Manuel “Jake” (Rosenea) Evans of Logan, WV; one daughter, Raina (Michael) Young of War, WV; her grandchildren, Destiny Jade Evans, Cash Young, and Riley Gage Evans; one brother, James (Cindy) Vinson; three sisters, Brenda (Matt) McAdam, Cathy Wilburn, and Judy Vinson; and one brother-in-law, Dewey Chaney. Additionally, Virginia leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
To honor Virgina’s wishes, her remains have been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
