Thelma Harrison Anderson Obituary

Thelma Harrison Anderson, 94, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Holden, WV, was born July 14, 1930, to Alexander and Dirlee (Grace) Harrison in Derby, Virginia.

Later on, the family relocated to Holden, WV, where Thelma gave her life to Christ at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C. J. Coleman.

Thelma met Willie R. Anderson, and the bells of matrimony began to ring. Willie and Thelma were united in holy matrimony on April 9, 1950. Three sons, Anthony Wayne, Michael Lloyd and Alan Curtis were born to this union.

To be closer to her family, in November of 2017, Thelma relocated to Columbus, Ohio where she remained until her death on March 8, 2025.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie; son, Anthony Wayne; three sisters, Leslie, Emma Lou, Barbara; and four brothers Paul, Edward, Luke and Bobby.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Michael of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Alan Curtis; three grandsons, Justin, Jason and Joshua; brother, Preston (Gloria) Harrison; sister, Kathryn (Earl) Rose of Columbus, OH, a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2025, at Guyan Memorial Gardens at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Caleb Endicott officiating.

Following the services, Thelma will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband, Willie.
