Terry Lee Toney, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2022, at his residence.

Born May 2, 1964, at Logan, WV, he was the son of the late Grant and Shirley Nelson Toney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Brenda Frye.

Terry was a West Virginia State Trooper, retiring after serving 20 years with the West Virginia State Police. He was a mason and a member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M. in Logan, WV. An avid outdoorsman, Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he also loved to exercise and work out. He was a family man, so spending time with his family, especially his children, was top priority in his life.

Terry is survived by one son, Carson Toney; one daughter, Cadie Toney; two special sons, Jarred Brewer and Drew Williamson; a special daughter, Alexandria Williamson; a special nephew, Grant Maynard; seven siblings, Gary, Millard, Nancy, Christy, Debbie, Dale, and Linda Gail; his father-in-law, Charles “Shorty” Frye. Additionally, Terry leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with countless cousins and a host of extended family and friends. He also leaves behind his brothers of the WVSP.

Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Michael Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Toney Family Cemetery at Big Ugly, WV. Pallbearers will be Carson Toney, Grant Maynard, Jarred Brewer, and brothers of the WVSP.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
