Tashia Nicole Ellis

Tashia Nicole Ellis, 32, of Johnson City, TN, raised in Chapmanville, WV, completed her exuberant and earthly journey of life on Friday, March 31, 2023.  She was born on January 17, 1991, in Logan, WV.  She is the daughter of Doris J. Ellis of Johnson City, TN, and the late Con Ellis of Chapmanville, WV.  

Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, was the father of her children, Kenny Bryant, her fiancé, Andrew Hipple, her brother, Thomas Scott Ellis, her niece, Rhonda Ellis Creakman, along with other cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

In addition to her mother, Doris Ellis, those left to celebrate Tashia’s life include her three children, Zackary Tyler Bryant (16), Makinley Jade Bryant (15), and Martin Absalon BarqueroIII (9), her sister, Kimberly Ellis of Charlotte, NC, her brother, Ronnie (Sherlie) Ellis of Crooked Creek, WV, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Tashia was known as mama bear and for having a heart of gold. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved, seen, and heard – even if she never felt that way herself.  She loved her family and friends more than anything, and always dropped everything immediately to support them in any way.  

In addition to her children, she also had three cats that she loved dearly – Lucian, Lucas, and her baby kitten London.  Tashia was an avid concert goer and a heavy metal music lover. She loved going to music festivals and traveling all over the world with her family and friends to see her favorite bands. She enjoyed hiking, camping, being in nature, and being on the beach.  She always had a season pass to the nearest and most thrilling amusement parks as well (mostly Cedar Point).  

Tashia’s celebration of life will be conducted at 6:00pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
