Stollie James "Jamie" Hunter, Sr.

Stollie James “Jamie” Hunter, Sr., 48, of Whitman, WV, raised in Mill Creek, WV, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, after a battle with cancer.

Jamie was a delivery driver at Lowe’s for the last 15 years, where he was loved by all of his customers and coworkers. He was also employed at Long John Silver’s for several years.

Jamie was born December 12, 1974, in Boone County, WV. He was adopted by his grandparents, Walter and Loretta Ferrell Hunter, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Carmel (Gene) Mitchell; his grandson, Greyson Matthew James Hunter; and four uncles/brothers, Tommy, Donnie, Johnny, and Ronnie Hunter.

Jamie is survived by his loving children, James “L.J.” (Caydence) Hunter of Whitman, WV, Jacob (Charity) Hunter of West Logan, WV, Emily (Chris) Spears of Chapmanville, WV, and Alyssa Hunter of Whitman, WV; his grandchildren, Stella and Oliver Hunter, Daniel and Dylan Spears, and Baby Hunter on the way; his girlfriend of 7 years, Missy Baldwin of Sarah Ann, WV; his sisters, Patricia (Charlie) Green of Mill Creek, WV, and Madge (Shaun) Gore of Chapmanville, WV; his aunts/sisters, Esta (Billy) Akers of West Logan, WV, Peggy Tomblin of Omar, WV, Lynn (Arkie) Tomblin of Verdunville, WV,  and Rebecca Hunter Tomblin of Crooked Creek, WV. Additionally, Jamie leaves behind several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Tim Willis and Scott Browning officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
