Sheila Sue Lilly, 67, of Logan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. On this day, Heaven gained a beautiful angel while her family lost the most beautiful, loving, and kind person. She was often referred to as “one of a kind” and will be deeply missed.
Sheila was born on December 23, 1953, to Violet Belcher Butcher of Verdunville, WV, and the late Wallace Ray Butcher.
Sheila was a very hard worker who had many jobs throughout her life. She retired from Logan County Schools in August 2020 as a custodian.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Crystal (Jerry) Egnor of Chapmanville, WV; one son, John Lilly of Logan, WV; four grandchildren, Haleigh Lilly of Logan, WV, John Lilly, II, and Hannah Lilly of Foster, WV, and Carissa Egnor of Chapmanville, WV; one great-grandchild, Adelyn Lilly of Foster, WV; three brothers, Dennis (Shirley) Butcher of Chapmanville, WV, Steven (Sybella) Thorne of Teays Valley, WV, and Robert Allen (Stefanie) Thorne of Verdunville, WV; three sisters, Glenna Spriggs, Barbara Butcher, and Cherri (Dean) Ross all of Verdunville, WV. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews along with her best friend, Mildred Browning of Chapmanville, WV.
Sheila’s family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kenneth “Chad” Adkins of Boone Memorial Hospital who went above and beyond to care for her, Dr. Waris A. Waris of Logan Regional Medical Center for showing her kindness and compassion, and Dignity Hospice for the excellent care they gave her and her family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. where a memorial service will commence at 5:30 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV.
