Sharon L. Thern, 62, of Logan, WV, entered her heavenly home on April 27, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center with her family and friends by her side.
She was born July 25, 1961, to Ursula and the late Virgil Damron. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Rolf Damron.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Mark Thern; two daughters, Tara (Chris) Hatfield and Arielle (Sean) Harper; grandchildren, Garrin, Aynessa, Drew, Lincoln, Amelia, and Alana; one sister, Tricia (Mark) Lowe; and a special bonus daughter, Brenna (Michael) Marcum. She was loved dearly by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, especially her best friends, Renee Sheppard, Cyndi Wooten, and Teresa Lester.
Sharon was a 1979 Logan High School graduate. Over the years, she worked at Belva Coal, Ashland Coal, and Hobet Mining where she made numerous lifelong friends. She was always full of jokes and laughter. She could always put a smile on your face.
She was extremely proud of her daughters and made sure everyone knew. Her grandchildren were the stars in her world, and nothing was better than them.
She will be dearly missed and loved by many.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated without services.
Her family would like to extend their gratitudes to CAMC Cancer Center, Dr. Perry and Pulmonary Associates, Dr. Dockery, Lindsay, Gabie, and all of 3 West, LRMC CCU staff, Charlotte Hampton, R.N., Dr. Racoma, and Tammi Blankenship, N.P., and all that contributed to her care through this journey.
