Scottie Paul McGraw, 73, of Pecks Mill, WV, departed this life on Thursday, February 18, 2021, from Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV.
Born March 29, 1947, at Pecks Mill, WV, he was the son of the late Clyde and Minnie Stowers McGraw. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Joe McGraw; one grandson, Solomon Isaiah Collins; his parents-in-law: Raymond and Phyllis Elliott; sisters-in-law: Frances Browning and Lydia Elliott; brothers-in-law: Tracey Browning and Jerry Johnson.
Mr. McGraw was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the UMWA and VFW, and he attended Victory Freewill Baptist Church. In his spare time and after his retirement, Scottie enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Carol McGraw; his children: Jim Paul (Sandy) McGraw and Mary (Van) Collins; his grandchildren: Corey, Tanner, Hayla, Miracle, and Canaan; his siblings: Donnie (Leola) McGraw, Gary (Norma) McGraw, Carol (Marshall) Harrison, Judy (Tom) Adkins, Frankie (Vella) McGraw, Becky Johnson, and Angie (Tim) Hiers; brothers-in-law: Robert (Phyllis) Elliott and Jonas Elliott; one sister-in-law, Renee McGraw; one special friend, Jason McCoy. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Collins, Rev. Jonas Elliott, and Rev, Roscoe Chafin officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
