Ronald Van Browning

Wendell, North Carolina – Ronald Van Browning passed away on December 12, 2020, from COVID-19 and underlying health conditions. He was born in West Virginia where he lived until his retirement and then relocated to Wendell, North Carolina in 2014, to be closer to his children. Ron was a 1968 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and spent his working years as a pharmacist and business owner. He was a kind, good-hearted, intelligent man with boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. Ron cherished the time that he spent outdoors. His granddaughters were the light of his life; he treasured them and did everything that he could for them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Glenyce Welch Browning; sons Jeff (Charlene) and Jon (Donna); granddaughters Katherine, Anna; sisters Betty Cobley (Sam), Sharon Ferguson (Jimmy), Pamela McKee, Kelly Waugh; brother Richard (Sara), brother and sister-in-laws Dan and Sara Welch, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Kathleen Nester and Oley Van Browning; brothers Fred (Barbara), Sam (Pauline), and Bob (Vivian).
There will be no service or visitation.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Highland Memory Gardens at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Matt Dameron officiating. The service will be accessible online on the Facebook page of Evans Funeral Home.
