Ronald Hill, 81, of Foster, WV, was born to the late Delmer and Vinnie Hill on July 25, 1943. He passed away peacefully at Hubbard Hospice House in South Charleston, WV, surrounded by family who loved him dearly on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Damron; sister, Katherine Pauley; and brothers, Harold Hill, Donald Hill, Danny Hill and Jerry Hill.

Ronald worked as a coal miner for many years. He was a 1961 graduate of Scott High School. He resided at Foster, WV, for 55 years where he raised his children. Ronald never met a stranger, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved gardening and being at the farm. He was an amazing man and will be missed terribly.

Surviving are his wife, Julie of Foster, WV; daughter, Terri Hill Damron (Mark) of Danville, WV; son, Gary Hill (Kristi) of Salisbury, NC; stepdaughter, Angie Napier; sister, Anita Alter of Wisconsin; brothers, Glen Hill (Terri) of Wisconsin and Charles Hill (Novella) of Ashville, NC; grandchildren, Haylie Damron Maciel (Augusto) of Charleston, WV, Jacob Hill of Charolette, NC, Ally Napier Halley (Ryan) of Big Ugly, WV, and Makinley Napier of Uneeda, WV; great-grandchildren, Lucca Maciel, Stella Maciel, Ellianna Halley, Willa Halley; and many nieces and nephews.

To honor Ronald’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no services.
