Roger Dean Boggs, 68, of Foster, WV, departed this life on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Hospice House West at South Charleston, WV.
He was born August 27, 1956, at Van, WV, a son of the late Callis and Irene Browning Boggs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Roger worked in the maintenance department at Boone Memorial Hospital for 33 years, where he was not only a diligent worker but also a friend to all. His passion for the outdoors was a significant part of his life. He found solace and joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, activities that allowed him to surround himself in the beauty of nature. His garden was a testament to his attentive eye.
Roger could always be found tinkering on a new project. His love for fixing and improving things was matched only by his love for his family. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family, and his presence was a source of comfort and joy. His grandchildren, in particular, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Roger's legacy is one of love, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories he created with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Tresa Boggs; one daughter, Essica (Kevin) Barker; his grandchildren, Breyanna Smith and her fiancé, Jason Lazier, Briston (Alivia) Smith, Allie Barker, and Skylar Barker; three great-grandchildren, Aviana Laws, Dean Smith, and Rowan Smith; six brothers, George (Thelma) Dolin, Leon (Bonnie) Dolin, Eugene (Suean) Boggs, Stevie (Josie) Boggs, James (Nancy) Boggs, and Sammy (Regina) Boggs; three sisters, Iris Burns, Mona (Charlie) Cullison, and Debbie Wyatt; and two very special friends and neighbors, Sam and Audrey Burns. Additionally, Roger leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
