Roger Dale Damron, 81, of Dingess, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Born on March 24, 1944, Roger lived a life marked by faith, family, and hard work.
Roger was a member of Tony Christian Fellowship Church, where his faith in the Lord guided his life. He devoted more than 45 years to the coal mining industry, serving as a superintendent and earning the respect of many throughout the community. Known for his leadership, work ethic, and integrity, Roger made a lasting impact on those he worked with and mentored.
After his retirement, Roger enjoyed a quieter life at home with his beloved wife Loretta, where he could be found caring for their pets or spending time with his family and friends. His love for animals was evident, and he cherished the companionship of their schnauzer, Annabelle, along with the memory of other beloved pets Isabella and Hensen.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Cleo Damron; his brothers, Wade, Ronnie, Billy Gene, Larry, and Robert Damron.
He is survived by his loving wife Loretta; and his children Tonya (David) Perry, Kathie (Dannie) Ashcraft, Roger Dale Damron, Jr. “Peanut,” and JR Damron (Debra); Loretta’s children Terenia and Brad (Mary) Combs; and siblings Patricia Grubb, Colleen “Cokie” Stewart, George (Bonnie) Damron, Gary (Susie) Damron, and Debra (Ira) Copley. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Donnie Wells officiating.
Burial will follow in the Damron Family Cemetery at Dingess, WV, with graveside remarks by his brother-in-law, Rick Williamson.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
