Rodney Charles Loveday, 69, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away the 26th of May 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, surrounded by loving family members.

He was born May 31, 1955, at Logan, WV, to the late William Henry Loveday and Cora Marie Powers Loveday.

Rodney was a U.S. Military Veteran that served his country for 12 years with pride and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. After his time in the military, he worked for Cemex with the same amount of dedication and pride until his health no longer permitted it. Rodney was a member of the Chapmanville United Baptist Church, and his faith in God was always a comfort through difficult times.

Rodney was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Marie Powers Loveday; father, William Henry Loveday; and sister, Gaye Morrison.

Rodney is survived by his sister, Rita Sabens; and brother, Larry Gene O’Bryan, Sr., who has been by his side for support over the last 8 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 2, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services located at 334 Crawley Creek Road, Chapmanville, WV 25508, with Pastor Grant Blair, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery located at 130 Academy Drive in Dunbar, WV 25064, where Military Graveside Rites will be observed.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
