Robert “Scottie” Mathis, 48, of Logan, WV, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Scottie was born July 6, 1975, at Man, WV, a son of Anna Gore Varney of Logan, WV.

He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Bobby R. Gore, Sr., and Juanita Morrison Gore; his step-father, Charles “Chuck” Varney; and four sisters, Heather R. Blackburn, Drema Stratton, Freda Brooks, and Shannon Collins.

Scottie was a poster child for Logan Easter Seal Society in the early 1980s. He loved camping with his step-father. At an early age, he attended Crooked Creek School for the Handicap. Scottie was loved by everyone he met. He is truly missed but will never be forgotten.
