Robert Ray Johnson 58, of Verdunville, WV, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

He was born October 23, 1966, at Logan, WV, a son of the late Columbus and Sheila Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Peanut” Johnson; and one brother-in-law, Elva Runyon.

Robert was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a retired coal miner who had worked for Massey Energy and Alpha for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Edward (Vicki) Johnson, Richard (Theresa) Johnson; sisters, Terri (Timothy) Carter, Melissa Runyon, Jamie (Josh) Wilson, and Amy (Christopher) Justice. Additionally, Robert leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that he loved dearly, and one special friend and companion, Leslie Messer.

The family requests no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
