Robert M. Clay Obituary

Robert M. Clay, 87, of Dingess, WV, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023.

He was born June 13, 1935, at Kirk, WV, the son of the late Chester W. and Edna M. Rutherford Clay.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Clay Newsome; three sisters, Doreen Talkington, Ruth Stacy, and Gaye Salmons; and three brothers, James Clay, Charles Clay, and Curtis Clay.

Robert was a proud United States Veteran and a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Christine Wellman Clay; one granddaughter, Jasmine Buchenroth; two great-granddaughters, Ava Buchenroth and Madison Wildermuth; one brother, Chester Clay, Jr.; and four sisters, Kate Evans, Karen Fadley, Bonnie Faulkner, and Darlene Taylor.

At this time, there will be no services. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
