Robert L. "Bob" Belcher Obituary

 

Robert L. “Bob” Belcher, 89, of Logan, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his residence.


He was born June 21, 1935, at Cora, WV, a son of the late Jess and Ruby Smith Belcher.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael “Mike” Belcher; and two brothers, Larry Belcher and Garry Belcher.


Bob was a cherished member of his community and had served as co-owner of Gino’s in Logan, Chapmanville, Oceana, and Man since 1967. He proudly served his country as a Korean War Veteran in the United States Marine Corps. Not only was Bob a patriot but also a man of faith and an active member of West Logan Missionary Baptist Church.  He was an avid WVU fan and enjoyed attending football games at Mountaineer Field. Bob also loved to travel.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Hilda Belcher; two daughters, Robin (David) Ballard and Donna Cook; one granddaughter, Tasha (Cody) Thompson; three grandsons, Jordan (Madison) Cook, Eli Ballard, and Jamie Ballard; four great-granddaughters, Janessa Watts, Meredith Cook, Abigail Ballard, and Sara Ballard; two sisters, Patty Justice and Linda (Tom) Tomblin; one brother, Kenny (Jeanne) Belcher; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Belcher. Additionally, Bob leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family, friends, and co-workers.


To honor Bob’s wishes, there will be no public services.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
