Robert Howard Ellis, 72, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his residence.

He was born May 1, 1953, in Logan, WV, a son of the late William M. Ellis and Lucille Collins Ellis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Ellis.

Robert made his living as a welder, having been employed by Mayo Manufacturing. He dedicated more than 50 years of service to the welding industry until his recent retirement. Robert will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tonya Casey; his son, Robert Ellis, Jr.; two grandsons, Robert and Dylan Ellis; his significant other, Valerie Collins; and one sister, Kathy Ellis. Additionally, Robert leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

To honor Robert’s wishes, his remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.
