Rita Carol Bryant

Rita Carol Bryant, 60, of Harts, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021, leaving from Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison, WV.

Born July 13, 1961, at Logan, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ernie Mayhorn and Juanita Mayhorn Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ernie Lee “Bubby” Mayhorn.

Rita was a devout Christian and member of the Mountain Home Freewill Baptist Church. Her passion was singing. She loved to sing at church, at home, or just about anywhere. Rita loved spending time with her family and was extremely devoted to raising and taking care of her children.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jim “Bimbo” Bryant; one son, James (Kelly) Bryant of Teays Valley, WV; one daughter, Wendy (Kenny) Mason of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Andy, McKenzie, and Kaelyn; two sisters, Bertha (Charles) Ward of Point Pleasant, WV, and Sharon (Olus) Sturgell of Laurel, IN; two nieces, Jennifer and Tammy; two nephews, Charlie and Bill; her step-father, Lester P. Bryant. Additionally, Rita leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Darrell Newsome officiating.

Burial will follow in the Frank Dalton Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at Evans Funeral Home.
