Reva Jean Martin, 78, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her residence.

She was born December 28, 1947, at Holden, WV, a daughter of the late Howard and Aileen Bradley Toney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jamie Gumm; one brother, David “Toby” Toney; one sister, Delilah Toney; and one niece, Wendy Toney.

For many years, Reva was a staple in Logan County Schools, where she was employed as a cook. Reva's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she shared a special bond with her grandsons. Her fondness for the outdoors was evident to anyone who knew her. She relished basking in the sunshine and took every opportunity to enjoy a swim in her pool. Many will remember seeing her on her porch, a cherished spot where she spent countless hours sitting and enjoying talking to her friends and neighbors. She will be remembered for her warm-hearted nature, her love of family, and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, John Martin; one grandson, Corey Gumm; one great-grandson, Brayden Gumm; one brother, Cameron (Tiffany) Toney; and three sisters-in-law, Jenny Toney, June Hensley, and Gail Porter. In addition, Reva leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of family and friends.

To honor Reva’s wishes, she will be cremated, and there will be no services.
