Obituary

 

Rev. Paul T. Fleming, 72, of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, leaving from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House at Huntington, WV.

Born March 11, 1950, at Logan County, WV, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Davis Fleming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen, Jewell, Violet, Nina, Jetta, Eunice Ann, Ruth, Cubie, and Christine; one son-in-law, Ricci Freeman.

Paul was employed with Westmoreland Coal Company as an electrical lineman for nearly 16 years. A devoted Christian, he conveyed his efforts to preaching the Word of God and reaching the lost souls. He was a faithful member of the 5 & 6 Holden FWB Church at Holden, WV. An avid outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing and telling stories about his adventures. He was also a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army. His favorite past time, aside from reading his Bible, was spending time with his grandchildren in which he always showed them love and kindness, and he taught them the right way. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Paul was extremely devoted to his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Betty L. Fleming; his three children, Lana Sue Freeman and Lyle T. Fleming both of Chapmanville, WV, and Loretta Priscilla Fleming of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Cody (Tasha) Thompson, Frankie Paul (Aleasha Freeman) Thompson, Shi Thompson, Lexi Fleming, and Faith Fleming; two great-granddaughters, Nessa Watts and Alyssa Freeman; two brothers, James (Betty) Fleming of Harts, WV, and Charles Fleming of Crooked Creek, WV; his best friend, Dorsal Sparks of Madison, WV. Additionally, Paul leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the 5 & 6 Holden FWB Church at Holden, WV, with Pastor Larry Light and Rev. Frankie Frye officiating.

Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery at Ranger, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
