Rev. Nickie Odell Adams, Sr.

Rev. Nickie Odell Adams, Sr., 77, of Logan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, leaving from Trinity Healthcare Services of Logan, WV.

Born November 6, 1944, at Logan, WV, he was the son of the late Delmas and Lizzie Tomblin Adams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Adams.

Nickie worked as a coal miner for many years. A devout Christian, he loved the Lord and devoted his life to witnessing to others about the goodness of God. He served as former pastor of the Hetzel Community Church and the Verdunville Community Church. A family man, Nickie was very devoted to and loved his family. He loved traveling Logan County and could often be seen at Walmart or Kroger socializing with everyone, for he never met a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory include four children, Nickie Adams, Jr., of Logan, WV, Tammy (Tommy) Kinser of Verdunville, WV, Barry Adams of Logan, WV, and Steven Adams of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren, Shannon Thompson, Nickie Adams, III, Daniel Marcum, Jordan Kinser, Nickolas Adams, Jessica Jeffrey, and Bralen Adams; a multitude of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Sue Abbott of Logan, WV, and Betty Stone of Perry, GA; two special nieces, Lesa Abbott and Teresa Sheppard both of Logan, WV. Additionally, Nickie leave behind a host of extended family and friends.

To honor Nickie’s wishes, his remains will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Word of Life Church at Logan, WV.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
