Regina Gail Woods, 68, of Logan, WV, passed away surrounded by her family on August 13, 2023. Regina was born on September 24, 1954, in Logan, WV to Alfred and Gertie Dingess.
Regina was preceded in death by her “baby boy”, Ernest Lee Woods, Jr., her nephew who was more like her son, Kendall Dingess, Jr., her mother, Gertie Dingess; father, Alfred Dingess; siblings, Kendall Dingess and Sandra Newsome.
She is survived by her husband and “sweetheart”, Ernest Woods; daughter, Tina Woods-Chambers (Larry); Her niece, Kaitlyn Neal (Ben), who will forever be the first little girl who stole her whole heart. Her grandchildren whom she loved beyond measure, Hannah Conley (Michael), Mackenzie Adams (Dallas) who are expecting the arrival of her great-grandchild, Madison Woods, Mia Chambers, Alyssa Chambers, Kameron Chambers, Jase Chambers, her best girl, her “Girlie Whirlie” as Gram Gram called her, Kendahl Lea Chambers, Brody Woods, and her great-grandson, “her tiny boy”, Keaton Scott Rainwater, who brought back some memories of her “baby boy”. She is also survived by her siblings, Glenn (Janet) Dingess and Dewana (Steven) Bircheat, who loving cared for her and stayed close by her side; her lifetime best friend, Linda Lambert, and special family friends, Scott Beckett (Beckie), her boys at station 1000 who lovingly stepped up for “Nan” in her son's absence, our City of Logan and Mount Gay Freewill Baptist family, as well as a host of friends and family.
The family wishes to thank Logan Regional ICU staff, Apogee physicians, and Dignity Hospice.
The family will honor her wishes to be cremated. In Regina’s honor, donations may be made to The June Harless Children’s Shelter.
