Rebecca Lynn (Stone) Mullins passed away in Charleston on January 9, 2021. Becky was born May 8, 1947 in Logan County, the daughter of William Frederick Stone and Ruth Louise (Turner) Stone. She is a graduate of Chapmanville High School and former member of Logan Presbyterian Church; Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charleston; and Highlawn Presbyterian Church in St Albans.
Upon her departure, we imagine the first thing she did was to find the best viewing angle to watch her beloved Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team defeat the Florida Gators (which they were kind enough to oblige). Even greater than her love of sports, Becky most enjoyed social connection, cherishing time with her many friends, reunions with the Stone and Turner families and her High School classmates across many years, and most of all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William Kendall Stone.
She is survived by her three sons, Brian Todd (Kathryn) Mullins of Vienna, Va., Jon Christon Mullins of Boca Raton, Fl., and Charles Kendall Mullins of Charleston; four grandchildren, Gabrielle Taylor (Asbury) Harless of Yawkey, Ryan Mullins of Annapolis, Md, and Erin Mullins and Hazel Mullins of Vienna, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Noel Louise Asbury, Christopher Paul Schulte, and Margaret Anne Schulte.
Due to coronavirus travel and related restrictions, a private interment was held at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville. The family will hold a celebration in memory of Becky’s life once health and safety conditions allow all those wishing to pay their respects to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or a charity of your choice.
