Raymond Ray Muncey

Raymond Ray Muncey, 80, of Bulls Gap, TN, formerly of Dingess, WV, and Logan, WV, departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.

Raymond was born on May 12, 1941, to the late Marion and Ethel Newsome Muncey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Rick Muncey and one sister, Mildred Miller.

Raymond was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Bulls Gap, TN. He never met a stranger and always greeted you with a smile. Some of his many favorite things to do were talking, listening to music, playing cards with Margie, going to church, and tinkering with jukeboxes.

Raymond is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Marjorie Ferrell Muncey; two stepsons, Allen (Melinda) Gullett of Logan, WV, and Danny (Ressie) Gullett of Lakeland, FL; two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Scott) Adams of Stollings, WV, and Deanna (Billy) Sullivan of Nicholasville, KY; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved as his own. Additionally, Raymond leaves behind one brother, Gary Muncey of Louisa, KY; two sisters-in-law, Bess Muncey of Cattlesburg, KY, and Janice Jennings of Palm Harbor, FL; and one brother-in-law, Herman Miller of Peoria, IL; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess, WV, with Pastor Darrell Newsome officiating.

To honor Raymond’s wishes, his remains have been cremated.
