Ray Evans, Jr., 81, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Trinity Nursing Home at Logan, WV. He was born on November 9, 1942, the son of the late Ray Evans, Sr., and Audrey Vaughan Evans.

Ray was the proud owner of Coaltronics and Mekeda, companies that flourished under his leadership. He also demonstrated his dedication and hard work values during his long tenure as a truck driver for National Cable. Ray was a man of simple pleasures. His passion for classic cars was renowned, and he could often be found tinkering under the hood of a vintage beauty or sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. Racing dirt cars and riding dirt bikes were also a love of Ray’s and an expression of his adventurous soul. He cherished spending time with his great-grandson. Ray's love for his family was evident in every hug, every word of encouragement, and every moment spent together.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Robert Evans and sister-in-law, Linda Evans.

He is survived by his loving wife, Grace Marie Chirico Evans; son, Vincent Ray Evans; granddaughters, Donna Marie (Andrew) Wright and Kaci Rae Evans; great-grandson, Wyatt Ray Hensley; step-brother, Herman Ray Evans; sisters-in-law, Vicky McFarland and Betty Jo Elkins; brother-in-law, Frank (Alice) Chirco; nephews, Michael Evans, Kenneth Evans, Bart Elkins, Brandon Elkins, and Joey (Ashley Chirico); nieces, Lisa Bryant and Shawna (Kenny) Jeffrey; several great nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV with Rev. Caleb Endicott officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
