Racine Carol Adams, 55, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Logan Health Center in Logan, WV.

She was born in Cleveland, OH, on December 8, 1968, the daughter of Curtis Adams of Chapmanville, WV, and the late Janice Carol Queen Conley.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kimberly Hope “Hopey” Adams, and stepfather, Jack T. Conley.

Racine worked as a cashier at Wal Mart for over 15 years where she never met a stranger. In her free time, she came home to a house full of kids she was either cussing out or embarrassing as she laughed and smoked a cigarette, who loved her dearly. She was a wonderful mother and mamaw who would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She had a contagious laugh and will be missed by all that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her father, are her son, Jason (Sheena) Tarkenton and her grandchildren, Jaylen, Hunter, and Brayden Tarkenton, all of Randleman, NC; her son, Leeland May of Gilbert, WV; her sister, Angela Adams of Colonial Beach, VA, as well as a very special cousin who was like a sister, Sonya Dingess-Porter. Additionally, Racine leaves behind an abundance of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Donnie Wells officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Fowler, Zach Belcher, Chris Davis, John Quick, Freddie Ferrell, and Fred Dingess.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home.
