Phyllis Jean (Green) White, 70, was born January 19, 1952, in Chapmanville, WV. She departed this life April 3, 2022, while at home in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by friends and family, with her son holding her hand.
Phyllis was preceded in death by father, Ray Green, mother, Virginia (Toppings/Green) Swann, and brother, Calvin E. Green, all of Chapmanville.
She is survived by brother, Ronald (Paula) Green of Pawleys Island, SC; nephew, Ronnie Green of Man, WV; sons, Brian Keith (April) White of Huntsville, AL, and Christopher (Garrett Savage) White of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Jadis (White) Lawrence of Ft. Stewart, GA; grandson, Brian White Jr., of Ft. Polk, LA; and great-grandson, Lance Lawrence of Ft. Stewart, GA.
Over the years, countless souls were touched by her caring, generosity, warm hugs, sweet smile, and infinite love. She then brought all those special gifts to literally hundreds of people when she moved to Phoenix in June 2018. All who met her called her "Mama" and were loved wholeheartedly as if they were her own precious children. She never met a stranger. Her sassy sweetness was the stuff of local legend in Phoenix. She loved karaoke! She sang 100% from the heart and felt every word of what she sang. Nobody else could get a bigger, more resounding applause by singing "Coal Miner's Daughter," "Born To Be Wild," Take Me Home Country Roads," or "(If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here" quite like her. She really lit up a room.
