Mrs. Phyllis L. Bias, 93, of Chapmanville, WV, peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home to be with her heavenly father on September 27, 2021.
She was born on Monday, July 16, 1928, at Chapmanville, WV. She was the daughter of the late John Fletch and Hattie Chambers Butcher. Phyllis was the widow of Emmett Bias, who passed away on November 18, 1956, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Also preceding her in death were five sisters, Maude Butcher, Marie Gore, Ella Thomas, Mary Smith, and Patricia June May; seven brothers, John Fletch, Jr., Corman Edward, Franklin, Eugene, Tracy, Charles, and an infant brother; and a dear friend and neighbor, Elsie Collins.
Those left to cherish her life, love, and memory are her three children, Drema Bias of Chapmanville, WV, Emmett Ray (Drema) Bias of Harts, WV, and Darrell (Debbie) Bias of King Shoals, WV; her grandchildren, Sara Bias of Harts, WV, whom she loved to go shopping and eating out with, Justin (Chelsea) Bias of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and Gavin (Tomarra) Bias of Chapmanville, WV; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Daisy; her surviving sister, Sarah F. Lawton of Durham, NC; a great niece, whom she loved like a granddaughter, Laura (Mikus) Rein. Additionally, she also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family, along with her precious fur babies, Bella, Allee, Tigger, and Blackie.
Phyllis was a devoted daughter and wife, selfless, loving mother, and wonderful grandmother. She was a hard worker her entire life with a determined spirit to never give up. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, quilting, and feeding the birds. Phyllis was a wonderful cook. She loved her pets and especially her family. She will be forever missed by those who were blessed to have had her in their lives.
Our mom held our hands when we were little, and she holds our hearts now and forever.
Private funeral services will be conducted at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Jimmy Carter officiating.
Phyllis will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
