Patricia Ann Hatfield Sergent, 84, of Danville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025, leaving from Hillcrest Health Care Center at Danville, WV.
She was born January 23, 1941, to the late John Aleshire and Lula Strickland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack T. Hatfield, Sr.; her second husband, Harold Sergent; one daughter, Debbie Hughes; two sons, Terry Hatfield and Gary Hatfield; one stepson, Danny D. Hatfield; three brothers, Harold Aleshire, Ray Aleshire, and John Aleshire; and two sisters, Louise Large and Janet Sue Byler.
Pat made her living as a beautician and owned a beauty shop in Brandenburg, KY, for several years. She was a devout Christian and attended the Micco Jesus Church in Switzer, WV. Her faith was a constant cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Her love for her family knew no bounds. Pat was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, always putting her family first. Her children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her caring heart extended beyond her family, as she consistently supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital with monetary contributions, reflecting her deep compassion for children in need. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching TV Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, where she found comfort and inspiration in his messages.
Pat’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a legacy of beauty and compassion that will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and community.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Trina Fortuna; two granddaughters, Brandi Hobbs and Taylor Hatfield; five grandsons, Tony Hughes, Chad (Melissa) Hughes, Nathan Hatfield, Gary Hatfield, Jr., and Justin Hatfield; her great-granddaughter, Hayden Hobbs, and several other great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly; one sister, Margaret Coyle; and one brother, Don (Barbara) Aleshire. Additionally, Pat leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Roger Large officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
