Patricia Ann Browning Obituary

Patricia Ann Browning, 81, of Whitman, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2024, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.

She was born September 30, 1943, at Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Henderson and Lucille Jackson Baisden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley A. Browning; one son, Thomas Michael Browning; four brothers, Bob Baisden, Tom Baisden, Roger Ray Baisden, and Henderson Baisden, Jr.; one brother-in-law, Harold McCloud; and one niece, Laura Tracy Baisden.

She was affectionately known as “Pat” to everyone, and if you didn’t know her, it wouldn’t have taken you long to get to know her, as she never met a stranger. She enjoyed her daily calls, especially with her siblings. She and her “little sis,” Diana, could talk for hours. She also loved reading and working crossword puzzle books, but most of all, she truly enjoyed sharing her morning coffee with her grandson, Tyler, while discussing their next adventure; he could talk her into doing just about anything.

Pat loved taking trips to Myrtle Beach, and these cherished trips were made all the more special by the company of her sisters, nieces, and family, who shared in the joy and laughter that came with each seaside adventure. She was a devout Christian and faithful member of the 20 Whitman Community Church for over 40 years. Known for her exceptional organizational skills, Pat approached every aspect of life with meticulous care. Whether she was paying bills or planning family gatherings, she did so with grace and efficiency, ensuring every detail was accounted for. Above all, Pat was very devoted to her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Timothy (Lisa) Browning of Whitman, WV; two grandsons, Tyler Matthew Browning of Whitman, WV, and Trevor (Allison) Browning of Florida; one brother, Joe (Sara) Baisden of Pecks Mill, WV; two sisters, Norma McCloud of Mitchell Heights, WV, and Diana (Eddie) Canterbury of Rutledge, TN; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Baisden of Verdunville, WV. Additionally, Pat leaves behind several nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family, her church family, and countless friends.

The Browning family would like to give a special thanks to the following people for their exceptional care they provided to Pat during her illness: Bev Farmer and Dr. Kaur at CAMC Cancer Center, Dr. William Jeffrey, Dr. Rob Keith, LEASA Staff, especially Brad “Fluff” Furrow, Curtis Workman, and Scottie Akers, and the Logan Regional Medical Center ER Staff.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 20 Whitman Community Church at Whitman, WV, with Pastor Joaquine Ooten and Rev. Lonnie Gore, Jr., officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lucille Jackson Baisden Family Cemetery at Verdunville, WV.
