Nancy Joy Killen, 88, of Henlawson, WV, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at her residence.

Joy dedicated many years of her life to feeding the children at Henlawson Grade School, where she worked as a cook. A devoted member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene, her faith was a guiding light in her life. Her passions extended beyond the kitchen and into the world of yard sales, where she found joy in the thrill of the hunt for hidden treasures. She could often be found sewing, tending to her vibrant garden, or meticulously caring for her flowers and yard. Her love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her.
Always one to feed others, Joy never met a stranger. Her welcoming heart and open arms made everyone feel like family. Her homemade bread and candy were not just treats, but symbols of her love and the sweet life she shared with those around her. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and grace. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by two daughters, Terry (Walter) Sanders and Linda Jo Fraley; her grandchildren, John Browning, Chris Sanders, Allen Fraley, Owen Fraley and his family, and Brenda Jo Killen; her great-grandchildren, John Edward Allen Browning, Lydia Star Browning, Chloe Fraley, Skyler Fraley, Austin Fortune, and Kevin Christian, Jr.; and one sister, Elizabeth Hensley. Additionally, Joy leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, with Pastor John Anderson officiating.
