Myrtle Gene Mullins Burns, 91, passed away peacefully at Trinity Healthcare Services at Logan, WV, with her son, Billy, by her side on April 14, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ida Mullins; her husband, Omer Burns; two sons: Merida Allen Ferrell and Jackie Lee Ferrell of Ferrellsburg, WV; one grandson, Roger Ferrell; one great-granddaughter, Le Anna Joy Triplett; brothers: Bennie, Cecil, and Joe (Junie) Ray, Jr; sisters: Dozel (Tiny) Burger, Goldie (Ted) Workman, Sylvia Mullins, and Ethel Kirk.
Myrtle was a devout Christian. She loved the Lord and knew what her savior had done for her. She truly was a miracle. During her working years, she served as a Deputy Sheriff Dispatcher for the Lincoln County Sheriff Office. She was of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by one son, Billy (Susie) Ferrell; two daughters: Brenda (Warren) Richards and Patty (Rick) Triplett; a daughter-in-law, Diana Ferrell; nine grandchildren: Teresa (Daniel) Browning, Phillip (Misty) Ferrell, Tony (Tabitha) Ferrell, Amanda Richards, Jonathan (Heather) Triplett, Michael (Jeanie) Triplett, Tammy (Bill) Richards, Tanya (Ora) Carter, and Tina (Dustin) Rakes; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clovis Mullins; and one sister, Juanita Runyon. Additionally, she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Trinity Healthcare Services for all they did for our mother.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clifford Ellis officiating. Singing will be provided by her son-in-law, Rick Triplett.
Burial will follow in Myrtle’s Memory Garden at Ferrellsburg, WV. Myrtle’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
