Mildred Nelson Obituary

Mildred Daisey “Midge” Nelson, 91, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Danville, WV.

Born August 23, 1929, at Logan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Brooke Phillips. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Nelson; one daughter, Tammy Bryant; two sons: Phillip Nelson and Scott Nelson; and one great-grandson, Maddox.

Midge, as she was affectionately known, was a member of Chapmanville United Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Jennifer Bryant, Jordan (Amy Mareske) Bryant, David (Jeanine) Nelson, Stephanie (Chuck) Preston; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Madison, Chase, Sarah, Hillary, and Hailey; great-great-granddaughter, Lilly; son-in-law, Mack Bryant; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Nelson; along with a host of close family and friends.

At Midge’s request, all services will be private for the family.
