Obituary

 

Michele Lynn Meade, age 61, of Logan WV, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021.  She was born on October 21, 1959, in Natrona Heights, PA to Carole (Shupeck) and Thomas Nealer.  She grew up in Newport MI where she moved with her mother and stepfather, Gunnar Johnson and younger siblings.  She married Daniel Knierim in August of 1978, and they had two daughters together.  In December of 1995, she married Donald Meade with whom she had another daughter.

Michele was a very creative and artistic person.  She enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing, crocheting, and quilting.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her garden and watching the many birds and wildlife it attracted.  But most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and her cat, Minx.  Her bright smile and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Michele is survived by her daughters, Brenna (Tanner) Brown of Newport, MI, Sara (Shawn) Embry of Toledo, OH, and Latasha (Richard) Perkins of Logan, WV; her grandchildren, Katelyn, Lela, Kaeli, Stephanie, Cristina, and Kain; her great-grandchildren, Abbigale, Evelynn, and a great-grandson on the way.  She is also survived by her mother Carole Johnson of Newport, MI; her siblings, Gregory Johnson of Beloit, WI, Kirsten (Mark) Huff of Britton, MI, Jeffrey Johnson, of Fremont, OH, Eric Johnson of Franklin, OH, and Mark (Jennifer) Johnson of Trenton, MI; and her many nieces and nephews.

Michele was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Meade, her stepfather, Gunnar Johnson, and her grandmother, Betty Shupeck.

In accordance with Michele’s wishes, a private celebration of her life will take place at a later date.   

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
