Michael David Scaggs, Jr., 49, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Friday, February 21, 2025.

He was born August 3, 1975, at Logan, WV, a son of Michael David Scaggs, Sr., and Yvonne Dillon.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Vonnie Scaggs, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mason Dillon.

David is survived by his father, Michael Scaggs and his companion, Margie Smith of Chapmanville, WV; his mother, Yvonne Dillon; two brothers, Travis Scaggs and Greg Scaggs both of Mitchell Heights; two uncles, Jon Scaggs of Chapmanville, WV, and Rodney Scaggs of Danville, WV; two aunts, Rachel (Rick) Kirkendall of Charleston, WV, and Becky (Tim) Arthur of Ona, WV; one great-aunt, Mary (Mike) Backus of Hewett, WV; a special cousin, Vivian Elkins of Hewett, WV; one special friend, Chrissy Blackwelder of Charleston, WV; and his friend and former wife, Angel Scaggs of Beckley, WV. Additionally, David leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.

Burial will follow in the Scaggs Family Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Saturday at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
