Maxine Jane Farley, 86, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

She was born March 14, 1938, at Big Ugly, a daughter of the late Willie and Rhoda Mills Vannatter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Farley; one granddaughter, Jannifer Rose Bryant; two great-grandsons, Anthony Lee Conley and Michael Ray Monk; four brothers and two sisters.

Maxine was a homemaker. She loved gardening and cleaning. Her home always looked immaculate. She always enjoyed hosting yard sales and cooking. Above all, Maxine was very devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with them all, especially her grandbabies.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Debbie (Steven) Johnson of Oak Hill, OH, and Barb Jeffrey of Chapmanville, WV; four sons, Sherman (Casey) Farley, Jr., of Charleston, WV, William Farley of Harts, WV, Bethel (Connie) Farley of NC, and Damer Farley of Harts, WV; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Roxie Adams of TN. Additionally, Maxine leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the Farley Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV.

Following the services, Maxine will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband.
