Mary Rose Marcum, 91, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.

She was born March 27, 1932, at Lyburn, WV, to the late Thurlo and Mabel McKinney McColgan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her eight children, Troy Bryant; her second husband, Pollice Marcum; three sons, Clifford Bryant, Roger Bryant, and David Bryant; one daughter-in-law, Charlene Bryant; one son-in-law, Ned Buckner; two grandsons, Zachary Bryant and Joshua Bias; two great-grandsons, Justin "JD" Sphaler and Bentley Ridge Adkins; four brothers, David McColgan, James McColgan, Rex McColgan, and Bobby McColgan; and one sister, Gertrude Boyd.

Mary Rose loved cooking, canning, and camping. She also loved visiting family and friends at family reunions at her homeplace. Devoted to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by three sons, Ronnie Bryant and Keith Bryant both of Chapmanville, WV, and Donald (Katrina) Bryant of Lake, WV; two daughters, Deb (Kerry) Coleman and Gaynelle Buckner both of Foster, WV; one daughter-in-law, Donna Duncan Phipps of Lake, WV; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marla Blevins of Ohio. Additionally, Mary Rose leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bryant Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV. Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Bryant, Correy Bryant, Clayton Bryant, Cody Bryant, Joey Pridemore, Aaron Pridemore, and Ben Adkins.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
