Martha Leota Tabor Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Mamaw. Martha Leota Tabor was fully healed and burst through the gates of heaven on July 30, 2024, at the age of 81. Mamaw lived a life of unwavering faith and boundless love, leaving behind a legacy that will forever touch the lives of those who knew her.

Born on May 25, 1943, in Logan, WV, Martha dedicated her life to nurturing her family with a heart full of love and endless compassion. Her greatest joy came from her family. She was a pillar of strength and a guiding light for us all. Her love knew no bounds and she extended it to every member of her family with a kindness that was as deep as it was genuine. She nurtured and supported us all. Known throughout the family for her delicious meals and comforting treats, she made every gathering a celebration with her culinary delights. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and the irresistible aroma of her special recipes that will be cherished in our memories. Her absence will be profound in the hearts of the family that she leaves behind.

Martha was kind and embodied selflessness in every action, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support provided a sanctuary of love and comfort for those around her. She was a beacon of compassion, offering a listening ear, a warm embrace, and a reassuring word, embodying the true essence of familial devotion and love. To know her was to love her.

Martha’s faith in the Lord was the cornerstone of her life. Her spiritual journey was one of grace and kindness, and she shared her faith with those around her, inspiring us all with her unwavering trust in God's plan. She was so incredibly proud of her son, Craig, who is a Pastor himself.

We find comfort in that she was greeted at the pearly gates by the ones who have passed on before her. Her parents: Gladys and Melvin Allen. Brother: Melvin (Buddy) Allen, Jr. Sisters: Mary Hughes and Patricia Elkins. Her former husband: Robert Tabor, Sr. Their reunion brings us solace, knowing they are once again united in eternal peace.

Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, the lessons she taught us, and the love she shared so freely. She leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Brother: Bill (Vivian) Allen. Sister: Deloris Sparks. Sons: Robert (Tammy) Tabor, Jr. and Craig (Kayla) Tabor. A special daughter who dedicated so much time to caring for her the last few years: Michele Vance. Grandchildren: Erica Smith, Mary Medders, Marlee Vance, Corey Vance, and Robert Beggs. Great-Grandchildren: Austin Medders, Cheyenne Smith, Tucker Norman, Olivia Morris, and Blaine Carter. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends. We find solace in knowing that her spirit continues to guide and watch over us from above.

A memorial service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held on August 2, 2024. Visitation begins at 11:00am and services at 12:00pm at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV. The funeral procession will then proceed to Highland Memorial Gardens for her final resting place. Pallbearers: Robert Beggs, Corey Vance, Austin Medders, Zak Martin, Gary VanMeter, and Zach Hayes.

Rest in peace, mamaw. Go rest high on that mountain, for your time here on earth is done. Your love and memory are forever etched in our hearts, and we are eternally grateful that we were gifted with you in our lives.
