Mark Steven Harless, 64, of Madison, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
He was born May 14, 1960, at Logan, WV, a son of the late Howard and Ruby Stollings Harless.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Harless; one sister, Carol Johnson; and one nephew, Edward Johnson.
Mark was a man who lived with a profound love for his country and served it with unwavering dedication. A United States Marine Corps Veteran, his patriotism was matched only by his commitment to the principles he held dear as a self-proclaimed constitutional conservative and a member of the Baptist faith. Throughout his life, Mark was known for his soft, kind-hearted nature. His compassion extended to all living creatures, but none more so than his beloved fur babies, Chloe, Izzi, Piper, Boxxy, Ralphie, Apple, and Neko. His passions were as vast as the West Virginia outdoors he adored. An avid rock and roller, he could often be found behind the wheel of his Mustang, cruising to the soundtrack of his favorite tunes. His love for music was evident in everything he did. His appreciation for the outdoors was not just a pastime but a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his connection to his beloved home state.
Family was the cornerstone of Mark's world. His love for his children and grandchildren was boundless, and he delighted in their every achievement and milestones. Mark's role as a father and grandfather was one he embraced with every ounce of his being, offering wisdom, laughter, and unwavering support. His family will remember him for his wonderful sense of humor and the infectious laugh that could lighten even the darkest of days.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kimberly Harless; his children, Stefani Harless, Darrell (Chrissy) Harless, Andrue Harless, Audrie (Vincent) Black, and Cameron (Jacie) Mays; his grandchildren, Trent, Abbie, Alexa, Mason, Logan, Ceana, Olivette, Forrest, and Chett; one special cousin, Diane Bias; two special nieces, Cheryl (Leo) Tosoian and Corinne Johnson; and one special lifelong friend, Bill Henry. Additionally, Mark leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
