Marilyn Brown Barker

Marilyn Brown Barker, 94, of Chapmanville, WV, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at her residence.

Born May 7, 1927, at Chapmanville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Pearl McCloud Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Barker; one son, Carl Dwaine Barker; three brothers, Paul Brown, Tom Brown, and Ronald Brown; and one sister, Genevieve Keenan.

Mrs. Barker was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chapmanville. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Barker of Chapmanville, WV; one grandson, Christopher Ronald Barker of Tornado, WV; one granddaughter, LaDonna Barker of North Carolina; two sisters, Rene (John) Counts of Logan, WV, and Doris Ann Brown Tomblin of Barboursville, WV. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby, WV, with Philip Meade officiating.

Following the services, she will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband, Carl.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV.
