Lyn Rena Seay Rice, 53, of Madison, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital at Charleston, WV.

She was born March 29, 1972, at Pontiac, MI, a daughter of Joanna Johnson Seay and the late Danny Ray Seay.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James Fred Johnson and Marilyn Johnson Berry; and her paternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Lillian Seay.

Lyn was a woman whose heart knew no bounds. The love she had for her family was her guiding force. She was the epitome of a devoted mother and grandmother, and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. An avid fisher, Lyn found solace and peace in nature. These quiet moments by the water were often shared with her loved ones, creating treasured memories. Lyn’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will remain as a beacon for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are her sons, Christopher Ray Moore and Matthew Malachi (Marinda) Moore; one brother, Dustin Ryan (Kayla) Seay; her fiancé, David Sansom and his sons, Andrew and Chris Harrison; her grandchildren, Mason Matthew Moore and Annie Dawn Moore; nieces and nephews, Kaylee Brooke Seay, Destiny Raegan Seay, and Kaison Ryan Seay; her aunt, Jeanette Johnson Brannock and her son, Stephen Brannock; and very special family friends, Bethany Grace Hendricks and her children. Additionally, Lyn leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 3, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Travis Perry, Sr., officiating.

Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery at Barboursville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
