Mr. Lush Adams, better known as Cush Baisden, 94, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
He was born October 24, 1930, at Harts, WV, a son of the late Kate Baisden.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman Baisden, Sol Bumgarner, Robert “Bob” Baisden, and Sid Adams; two sisters, Sylvia Baisden and Wanda Jean Baisden; one nephew, Dewayne Baisden; and his longtime companion, Beulah Tomblin.
Cush was a faithful member of Mountaineer Missionary Baptist Church. He loved working in his gardens and on the farm. He also loved helping others. He retired from Lear Seigler and the Logan County Board of Education after many years of dedicated service.
He is survived by two sisters, Alice Baisden and Janet Spencer, and one brother, William “Bill” Baisden all of Harts, WV; his nieces, Kathern Baisden, Bonita Gurney, Kaitlyn Baisden, Alana Baisden, Brittany Childers, Lauren Ellis, and Amanda Spencer; his nephews, Steve (Christy) Baisden, Timothy Baisden, Julius Baisden, Richard Spencer, and Jace Bailey. He also leaves behind his neighbor and buddy, Andrew Frazier, along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tammy Bannister and Camille Slash for the care they provided for Cush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Jimmy Carter officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
To honor his wishes, Cush will be cremated following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cush’s honor can be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House at 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
