Lou Ann “Sister” Gore, 87, of Logan, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Logan Regional Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.

Lou was born February 13, 1937, at Curry, WV, to the late Walter “Sonny” and Zelda Elkins Gore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters, and several brothers-in-law.

Lou was a friend to many and loved by all. She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene. She loved her church family deeply, and she faithfully attended church services until she was no longer able to. Lou resided at Logan Landing, where she loved all the residents. She was also an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Taking trips to the beauty shop and eating at Giovanni’s were among her favorite activities. She came from a large family who loved her very much, and she always cherished get-togethers and dinners with them. Lou had a beautiful soul, and she has left a trail of memories which will be treasured by those who loved her.

She is survived by four sisters, Marie Lester of Pecks Mill, WV, Betty Kavanagh of Steubenville, OH, Flossie Southworth of Jackson, MI, and Mary Jeffery of Logan, WV; and one brother, Jim (Carole) Gore of Roanoke, VA. Additionally, Lou leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins whom she loved, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Guyan Memorial Gardens at Godby, with Pastor Roscoe Chafin officiating. Interment will follow.
