Loretta Faye Whitt, 70, of Chapmanville, WV, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at her residence, after a courageous battle with RA.

She was born November 15, 1954, at Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Elbert Norman “Slim” Deskins and Virgie White Deskins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Brandy Whitt; two sisters, Nancy Wiley and Diana Mullins; and one brother, Norman Deskins.

Loretta worked as a registered nurse for many years. 

Loretta is survived by her husband, Ned Whitt; one son, Mark Alan Whitt; two grandchildren, Spencer Alan Whitt and Teresa Faith Leviner; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Jade Whitt and Hudson Alan Whitt; two sisters, Carol Adams and Patricia (Phillip) Blevins; and three brothers, David (Cheryl) Deskins, Robert (Doris) Deskins, and Carl (Teresa) Deskins. Additionally, Loretta leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

Per Loretta’s wishes, her remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.
