Lola Mae Crowder Brumfield, 95, of Harts, WV, our precious mother, went to her heavenly home on March 6, 2023.
She was born June 6, 1927, at United, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Mae Scaggs Crowder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Brumfield; four brothers, Robert, Clayton, Cecil, and Garner Bill Crowder; and three sisters, Rosella Myers, Kathryn Crowl, and Barbara Brauer.
Lola is survived by three children who were blessed to call her mother, her son, Frank (Barbara) Henson of Harts, WV, and two daughters, Cori Brumfield (Rick Helton) of Harts, WV, and Bertha (James) Nelson of Salt Rock, WV; her beloved grandchildren, Marsha (Paul) Isaacs, John (Sandy) Henson, Taylor (Kim) Nelson, and Jamie Nelson; her beloved great-grandchildren,Paul Ray Isaacs, Paige Isaacs, Sara (Nick) Scott, Alayah, Annalia, and Avery Nelson; and one dear sister, Mary Lynn Kozarevich of Plano, TX. Additionally, Lola leaves behind many cherished family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
After graduating from East Bank High School, Lola moved to Chapmanville, WV, and began working in the bookkeeping department at Appalachian Power Company and later as an admitting clerk at Logan Regional Medical Center. She attened Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist Church. She was a Christian since childhood who relied heavily on faith. Lola loved going to church, studying her Bible, and playing the piano to glorify God. She was also a Sunday School teacher and a prayer partner for many. She enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood in the coal camp with friends and family. Lola was an incredible woman who will be greatly missed. Heaven gained a special angel.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville, for the wonderful care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Joe Triplett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Taylor Brumfield Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
